San Antonio Recap: On January 24th an Alamo City and Capital City joint event took place at Carter Creek Resort and Winery near Johnson City.
Friday’s event began with guests arriving from San Antonio and Austin at the beautiful Carter Creek Winery Resort. We were welcomed with cookies and wine and beer tasting.
At 6:30 guests arrived for a cocktail hour on the patio of the restaurant-tasting room (dont worry, we had heaters 😉). Small appetizers were served and guests chose wines from the Carter Creek wine menu.
At 7:30 guests were ushered into a beautiful dining room where a lovely 3 course dinner was paired with Carter Creek wines and beers from their brewery. The wait staff was delightful and very knowledgeable in explaining the wine and beer pairings.
Austin Bailli Steve Mannion raffled off a couple of gifts from Carter Creek and fun was had by all in the name of the Chaine!!
On Saturday January 25th the weather was cool and overcast and guests were on their own to visit and taste Hill Country Wineries, Breweries and Distilleries.
At 5:00 pm some guests boarded a shuttle for the trip to Becker Vineyard while others drove. Festivities at Becker Vineyard began at 5:30 with Hors d’oeuvres and Becker Vineyard wines.
At 6:30 everyone was seated for a 4-course meal also paired with Becker Vineyard
• Lobster Bisque crème fraiche, Kaluga caviar paired with their 2022 Viogner Reserve
• Legacy Gyulais Beef Ribeye Rossini paired with 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, Canada Family VineyardsOR Grilled Quail paired with 2022 Counoise
• Cheese Corse, Epoisses Cheese, Compressed Apples, Honey paired with 2020 Chardonnay Reserve
• Pecan Tart Bourbon Sauce, Chantilly Cream paired with 2015 Malmsey

After dinner, some guests returned to Carter Creek and continued the festivities sharing wine, conversation and new friendships.
All in all, one for the books!

Last Sunday we held our Christmas formal at the beautiful and historic The Stephen F Austin Royal Sonesta Hotel. Chef Stephen McDowell, a native Texan, prepared a wonderful evening for us and all was merry and bright! 🎅🏼✨

This past August, Chaine Austin enjoyed extraordinary BBQ at Austin’s beloved LeRoy and Lewis. Known for his innovative approach to Texas BBQ, Chef Evan LeRoy treated us to a mouthwatering selection of smoked and grilled dishes, each paired perfectly with a curated selection of wines that brought out the best of every flavor!
From smoked flatiron and unique cuts to unexpected sides such as their cauliflower burnt ends, each bite was crafted with Chef Evan’s creativity, blending classic BBQ with innovative techniques and local flair.

Wonderful evening in the Woodlands hosted by Steve and Cheryl Kenny and created by Bailli Chef Steve Manion and Vice Conseiller Gastronomique Vincent DiLorato assisted by Dame de la Chaine Donna Lee DiLoreto. Eight members had fun raising funds.

7. Look for available street parking or nearby parking lots/garages in the area.
