The story behind Buda Soda Fountain is truly inspiring. The owner, Tammy Gray, had always dreamed of having a drugstore with an authentic soda fountain. In 2006, she opened Buda Drugstore but felt that something was missing. It wasn't until 2009 when the retail space next to her store became available for lease that her dream finally came true.
Soda fountains were once a common sight in drugstores across America in the 1940s and 1950s. They served as gathering places for friends and provided an inexpensive date option or a sweet treat while waiting for prescriptions to be filled. Tammy wanted to bring back this nostalgic experience and create a place where young kids today could understand what their grandparents experienced.
For almost 10 years now, Buda Soda Fountain has been serving up some of the finest milkshakes, handmade sodas, floats, sundaes, banana splits, Blue Bell ice cream, coffee drinks, old-fashioned candies, homemade soups, sandwiches, and baked treats in town.
