🌮❤️ Thank You, Rainey Street ❤️🌮
Asador has always been about more than just tacos. From the very beginning, our Rainey Street location was built on hard work, family, and creating a space where our team could grow and thrive. We’ve endured the ripple effects of construction and redevelopment on Rainey proudly, staying true to who we are while serving the community that has supported us through it all.
Our plan at the end of this lease was to resign and take over the property completely. expanding into both food and bar, and building something even greater. But during that process, the original owner (who’s owned the property since the 80s) sold the property to a private equity firm. Despite our passion to stay, we were told our rent would be more than tripled, making it unwise for us to continue. As we learned more, it became clear that Rainey has larger redevelopment plans in motion and unfortunately, we are not a part of that vision.
Our last day of service on Rainey Street will be at the end of this month. While this chapter comes to a close, we hold nothing but gratitude. Gratitude for the memories, for our incredible employees who have been given opportunities to build stable, fulfilling lives here, and for all of you who came through our doors to share a meal and a moment with us.
This isn’t goodbye from Asador our Las Perlas location and our food truck at Cheer Up Charlie’s are still open and ready to serve you the tacos you know and love. 🌮🔥
We wish the best to whoever is part of the next chapter of Rainey’s story. Asador will always carry the spirit of the old Rainey Street with us, no matter where the road takes us next.
