1431 Café wants to make the back-to-school experience for kids and parents as awesome as possible by offering a FREE (or discounted) Kid's Meal with every adult entrée purchased for dine-in only, beginning tomorrow, Friday, August 7th and ending at 3:00p on Tuesday, August 11th!
Deets and fine print: Children under 12 years-of-age can order one meal off our dee-lish Kids Menu. All of the meals on our Kids Breakfast Meals (on the left side of the menu) are FREE, with an accompanying adult entree purchase. Any requested upcharges or substitution charges listed on the menu still apply.
If the meal chosen is priced at $6.55 or more from the Kids Lunch Meals on the right, we will issue a credit of $6.55 to the adult for their kid's meal order.
Limited to ONE free or reduced-price kids meal for each adult entrée purchased.

What an honor it is for us to help usher Bert into his second century of an amazing life!
Thank you to Annette Sponseller and all of her ROTC cadets who stopped by to meet and chat with the legend that is Bert.
We had a fair amount of birthday cake left after Bert's big celebration but rumor has it that Bert selflessly volunteered to help reduce the leftover cake all the way down to ZERO leftovers... 🎂😋🤣

A BIG thank you to Lt. Col. Walt Goodson and the Texas DPS Family for helping us celebrate the expiration of Bert’s TDL and the beginning of Bert's 101st year on this big blue marble!
We had a number of Bert's family and friends in attendance, as well as a gaggle of high school ROTC cadets, plus many of Bert's buddies from the VFW Hall. It was a great turnout of community love and support for our buddy, Bert.
For those of you interested in military history, Bert was a tank commander under Gen. George Patton in the Battle of the Bulge in late 1944 and early 1945. This was one of the coldest, most brutal, hard-fought battles of the war and there were many losses on both sides. Our victory in that battle foreshadowed our eventual victory over the Axis Powers a little more than six months later.
And Bert was part of the team that made all of that happen.
Bert is a true American legend! We all thank you for your service!

This Saturday, May 30th at 1:30p, we are hosting at the café a 100th birthday party for Bertram (Bert) Feltinton, a local World War II veteran who attained the rank of captain in the U.S. Army and who is also one of the oldest licensed drivers in Texas. Bert's TDL expires tomorrow, his 100th birthday!
Bert enlisted in the US Army in August of 1943 and at the tender age of 17, served as a tank commander under Gen. George S. Patton and was discharged in May of 1946!
After the war, Bert worked as an NYPD patrolman and was then a successful businessman in the NYC area. Marrying his wife Carleen in Travis County in 1977, they moved from NY back to Cedar Park 30 years ago, once they retired. Bert is a very regular customer of 1431 Café and we always look forward to his visits.
He is extremely sharp and spry for a 100 year-old man and he loves to talk to people. He has many great stories about the war and his time in the military. He is a real character, as well as a walking, talking piece of U.S. military history!
