Maria's journey with Taco Xpress began after trying her hand at different businesses. After facing some setbacks with a gift store and a convenience store, she decided to take a leap of faith in 1997. With an extension on her taxes and just $500 in cash, Maria purchased a little trailer and started cooking up delicious tex-mex dishes.
In the early days, Taco Xpress faced some challenges with sales averaging around $17 per day. However, everything changed when they received their first review in the Austin American-Statesman.
