Three nights in, and it feels SO good to be feeding people once more. 🌱🔥
Counter Culture is officially back, and this soft opening has already reminded us exactly why we do this. Watching our new crew hit their stride, seeing familiar faces walk back through the door, and plating up food for this community again — it’s everything.
We’re still in training mode, so hours are a bit cozy right now: Tuesday–Sunday, 5–10 PM. Lunch and brunch are coming soon — we promise!
First up on the menu: Asian BBQ seitan skewers over slaw. Smoky, sticky, sweet-and-spicy seitan, grilled and stacked over a crunchy slaw that cuts right through the glaze. 100% plant-based.

The word is out and it’s true: Counter Culture is BACK.
For the next few weeks, find us open Tuesday–Sunday, 5–10 PM as we ease back in and get our incredible new crew trained up and comfortable in the kitchen.
Once everyone’s fully dialed in, we’ll expand to lunch — and once that next round of newbies is trained, brunch is coming too. 🍽️

In a few weeks, I’ll need more prep and line cooks for the evenings, so these dish shifts could lead to other kitchen work

We are awaiting our final inspection with the city & our booth delivery. Then, the next step is moving everything in, setting up and spending a few days testing the recipes in our new kitchen.

Painting on an old 1960s brick building is no easy feat (that surface fights you every step of the way), but she absolutely nailed it.

⚡ WE HAVE POWER! ⚡
After 4+ months of planning, installing, and energizing our brand new utility pole, Counter Culture officially has electricity on site. Huge milestone.
That means we can finally get the flooring and woodwork installed with the lights ON — and yes, those lights include these fixtures that are giving us all the vintage diner feels 😍
About 3 more weeks of build-out ahead, and we’re aiming to open our doors late August / early September. Getting so close.
Thank you all for hanging in there with us through this ride. It’s been a long road to get the power turned on, but every step forward means we’re one step closer to feeding you again 🌱
