Tonight, art and cocktails share the spotlight at The Roosevelt Room.

Join us from 6pm–10pm in our upstairs Mezzanine Gallery for Tokens of My Affection, an intimate exhibition of original works by The Roosevelt Room’s longtime resident artist, Thad M. Morgan.

Thad has created the artwork that has adorned The Roosevelt Room since we first opened in 2015, helping shape the visual identity of our space for more than a decade. Tonight, we’re inviting you upstairs to meet the artist, explore a broader collection of his work, and enjoy thoughtfully prepared cocktails from our bar team along the way.

Come by, wander the gallery, talk art with Thad, and stay awhile over a drink.

The artist behind The Roosevelt Room’s walls is stepping into the spotlight.

This Thursday, September 10th, join us from 6pm–10pm in The Roosevelt Room’s upstairs Mezzanine Gallery for Tokens of My Affection, an intimate evening of fine art and thoughtfully prepared cocktails featuring original works by our longtime resident artist, Thad M. Morgan (Thad Morgan Art).

Thad has been part of The Roosevelt Room since we opened our doors in 2015, creating the artwork that has helped define the look and character of our space for more than a decade. On Thursday evening, we’re excited to turn the focus toward the artist himself and showcase a broader collection of his original work.

Wander through the gallery, meet Thad, settle in with a cocktail from our bar team, and experience our upstairs Mezzanine from an entirely different perspective.

Whether you’ve admired his paintings on our walls for years or are discovering his work for the first time, we’d love to have you join us.

Not every ingredient in a great cocktail gets top billing. Sometimes, it’s the supporting cast that makes the whole thing sing!

On Sunday, September 27th, we’re turning the spotlight toward those unsung heroes with the next installment of The Roosevelt Room’s Bartending Master Class Series:
Cocktail Co-Stars — Liqueurs, Cordials, Bitters, Amari, Absinthe & Fortified W**es

From the herbal complexity of amari and the concentrated punch of bitters to the seemingly endless worlds of liqueurs, vermouths, sherries, ports, and beyond, these are the ingredients bartenders reach for to add sweetness, bitterness, aroma, acidity, depth, balance, and complexity to a drink.

Throughout the afternoon, we’ll taste our way through 14 unique modifiers while exploring their histories, production methods, defining characteristics, and—most importantly—how and why we use them behind the bar. We’ll also guide you through the proper techniques for nosing and tasting spirits, helping you better identify, evaluate, and appreciate what’s in your glass.

And, because this is a cocktail class after all, your ticket also includes two expertly-crafted cocktails and hors d’oeuvres to enjoy along the way.

Whether you’re a home bartender looking to up your cocktail game, a hospitality professional hoping to deepen your knowledge, or simply someone who loves learning about what they drink, we’d love to have you join us.

🏴‍☠️ FOUR NIGHTS LEFT TO GET WRECK’D. 🏴‍☠️

After a summer of rum-soaked revelry, hidden treasure, maritime mischief, and plenty of pirate debauchery, Shipwreck’d is preparing to disappear beneath the waves once again.

Our annual pirate pop-up next door at sets sail for the season after Sunday, August 30th, which means you have just four more nights to come aboard before the ship disappears until next year.

Step through the doors and into a world where lanterns flicker through the fog, cocktails arrive wreathed in smoke and fire, treasure chests open at your table, and skeleton pirates stand guard over their fortunes. From flaming Cannonball Old Fashioneds and smoking skull bottles to pirate kings, sea monsters, buried treasure, and plenty of rum, there’s still time to discover what’s been hiding below deck.

But not much.

Gather yer crew, claim yer spot aboard, and make these final nights count.

⚓️ Reservations for parties of up to 15 guests are available by selecting “Reservations” at https://www.shipwreckdbar.com/.
⚓️ Groups of 16+ guests, birthdays, bachelor & bachelorette parties, corporate outings, and private gatherings can inquire through “Book Yer Event.”
⚓️ Walk-ins are always welcome.

The ship sails for the final time Sunday, August 30th. After that, Shipwreck’d sails off into the horizon until next summer.

Come aboard. Bring yer crew. Let’s get Shipwreck’d!

At The Roosevelt Room, it’s the people behind the scenes who help make everything we do possible, and this month’s spotlight is on Alejandro Ugarte.

Originally from Mexico City, Alejandro joined The Roosevelt Room team nine months ago after previously working for the Mexican government in Oaxaca. As a member of our maintenance team, Alejandro plays an important role in keeping our space in top shape and making sure our team has what they need to provide the best possible experience for our guests.

Outside of work, Alejandro has no shortage of hobbies. He loves riding dirt bikes, taking motorcycle road trips, fishing, spending time on Lake Travis, and getting behind the wheel of go-karts and race cars. He’s also a licensed pilot and, true to form, can fix anything with a motor—whether it belongs to a car, motorcycle, or an A/C compressor (which we all know how important that can be during these hot summer days).

For Alejandro, hospitality means creating a welcoming atmosphere and treating everyone with kindness, respect, and genuine care. One of the things he values most about The Roosevelt Room is being part of a team that supports one another and shares a commitment to providing exceptional service to every guest who walks through our doors.

We’re incredibly grateful to have Alejandro as part of our crew and appreciate everything he does—often behind the scenes—to help keep The Roosevelt Room at its best.

Next time you see him around, be sure to say hello!

Cheers to Alejandro! 🥃

With a backstory as intriguing as its flavor, the Saturn is a Tiki-era classic that's worth savoring during your next visit.

Created by J. “Popo” Galsini in 1967, the drink won him the International Bartenders Association World Championship while working at the Outrigger in Laguna Beach. After fading into obscurity, the recipe was rediscovered by Jeff “Beachbum” Berry () in the early '90s on the side of a glass he found in a San Diego thrift store.

Our take on the Saturn keeps the spirit alive with a unique blend of , , JDT Velvet Falernum, House-made Orgeat, Liber & Co Passion Fruit Syrup, Lemon, Yuzu, and seasoned with Cassia & Salt Tinctures. It's served Kaikan-style with a large rock in the center of the glass, then garnished with a rim of Golden Rock Candy to mimic its eponymous planet.

Come experience a sip of tropical history. Cheers to you!

Today we're celebrating with the Poet's Muse, the poetic creation from our very own Justin Lavenue for the & 's Most Imaginative Bartender competition back in 2015. Since then, it has continued to be one of our most popular House Creations.

Inspired by Matsuo Basho, the father of Haiku poetry, this competition-winning cocktail is a sultry medley of native Japanese ingredients and bartending techniques, served "Kaikan-style" - hard-shaken and serve over its large ice cube. Staying true to its origins, the ingredients are written in Haiku 5-7-5 syllable form:

Bombay Sapphire Gin,
Poet's Cordial, Citrus Blend,
Umami Tinture

Cheers to the creativity in all of us, and cheers to you!
