El Sol y La Luna Restaurant, a Tex-Mex restaurant and bar & grill, was opened by Nilda de la Llata in 1995 on South Congress. Its aim was to provide a family-friendly atmosphere while serving fresh, interior Mexican cuisine. Additionally, it served as a community hub for live music, cultural arts, and special events. In its later years, the restaurant relocated to the corner of 6th Street and Red River, becoming a vibrant meeting place for both locals and tourists. Unfortunately, El Sol y La Luna Restaurant has been permanently closed since then.
