What people say
El Chilito is a Tex-Mex restaurant that embodies the best of what these types of establishments have to offer. With its casual and laid-back atmosphere, it provides a refreshing and relaxed dining experience for all who visit.
One of the standout features of El Chilito is its commitment to using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. From their hand-made planters enclosing an outdoor patio to their brightly colored picnic tables and strings of carnival lights, the attention to detail in creating a vibrant and inviting space is evident. The fact that these lights stay up year-round adds a touch of festivity to any visit.
But it's not just the ambiance that sets El Chilito apart. The food itself is a true delight. With recipes made from scratch in-house, you can taste the dedication and passion that goes into each dish. They proudly serve Vital Farms eggs, El Milagro tortillas, Texas Coffee Traders coffee, and Texas-raised beef, ensuring that every bite is bursting with flavor and quality.
It's no wonder that El Chilito has become an epicenter of the Cherrywood community and an East Austin staple. Their commitment to providing top-notch food has even caught the attention of the New York Times, solidifying their reputation as a must-visit spot.
And if all this wasn't enough, El Chilito has exciting plans for expansion. With two upcoming locations on the horizon, it's clear that this little brother has become a big player in the Tex-Mex scene.
Whether you're craving tacos, coffee, frozen sangria/mimosas, or draft beer, El Chilito has got you covered. Their menu offers a delicious selection of Tex-Mex and interior Mexican style dishes that will satisfy any palate.
So next time you're looking for a casual dining experience with incredible food and local charm, make sure to pay a visit to El Chilito. You won't be disappointed.
