Taj Palace Indian Restaurant and Bar was a popular establishment that offered authentic Indian cuisine in Austin, Texas for over 20 years. It was the first to introduce north Indian food to the city in 1990. Owned by Ajay and Kiran who were raised in New Delhi, Taj Palace provided an unforgettable dining experience with its rich flavors and authentic atmosphere featuring live music, beaded curtains, and a formally dressed wait staff. The restaurant received numerous awards including the "Best of Austin" voted by the Austin Chronicle's readers year after year and "A Staple of our Dining Scene" by the Austin American Statesman magazine. Unfortunately, this business has been permanently closed.
