Someone had to say it 😅😅😅 and PLEASE DON’T STOP ORDERING TAKE OUT because we need the business 🙏♥️ but more to say on this below👇
It seems like 90% of our dinner business some days is to-go. This has been a trend for a long time. We stare at an empty dining room but a whole rail of tickets ready to be cooked.
Restaurants pay a premium for restaurant space. Good locations for visibility, foot traffic, etc. With the demand leaning so heavily to-go, restaurants will seize to exist in store fronts and will move to ghost kitchen formats.
Back in the day when we had chicken tenders, I remember ordering them to-go. Legit SO gross in comparison to the experience eating them fresh in the restaurant. Soggy, dry chicken, etc. I’ve genuinely banned chicken breast at this point from our menu for hot service because it tastes terrible, dry and overcooked by the time it reaches someone’s house.
This is my encouragement to patron the local restaurants you love in person. You’ll pay less for it and have a better experience. We know it’s not always possible, but I guarantee you’ll enjoy it 10x more.
