September’s featured organization is Lirios Pediatrics.
Lirios Pediatrics is the only clinic in Texas providing completely free, comprehensive pediatric care to uninsured children — including well-child exams, acute and chronic illness care, vaccinations, X-rays, medications, lab work, and mental health counseling.
Texas has the highest rate of uninsured children in the nation (more than double the national average). In 2025, they served more than 1,700 unique patients.
Through their Expanding Care for Kids campaign, they are raising $250,000 to move into a larger facility and hire additional staff so they can serve 3,000 children per year by the end of 2027. Every dollar helps them make sure no child in Texas is ever turned away from the care they need.
As always, $1 from every glass of house wine sold during happy hour at both locations will be donated to this amazing cause.

You may have noticed a new face around Chavez. We’re delighted to share that Adam (he/him) has joined us as Chavez’s General Manager. While he’s new to us, he’s not new to restaurants in Austin. Get to know a little more about him below:
What are you most excited about for this role? The amazing team. And getting to be a part of my favorite restaurant in town.
What’s your favorite cause/charity around town? Austin Parks Foundation? It may be too hot for me right now, but we need great public outdoor spaces! Also Austin Pets Alive.
Current favorite dish/drink at Buf? Cavatelli al Pomodoro. Gotta celebrate in season tomatoes as much as possible. And as if I didn’t need another reminder of how delicious riesling can be, the Vollenweider Goldgrube Kabinett I opened the other night was the best wine I’ve tasted this year. Also, drink more Champagne! That’s my New Years resolution every year.
Say hi next time you stop by!

August’s featured nonprofit is Capital Area Counseling (CAC).
Since 1980, they have provided affordable mental health care to Central Texans. Their mission is to make high-quality counseling accessible to everyone. CAC provides counseling for individuals, couples, families, children, and groups, helping people navigate a wide variety of topics. They also help train the next generation of mental health professionals, expanding access to care throughout our community.

What people say
Bufalina, located on E. Cesar Chavez in Austin, is a must-visit pizza place for all pizza lovers. With its mouthwatering menu and cozy ambiance, it's no wonder why this restaurant has gained such popularity.
One of the standout dishes at Bufalina is the "bucatini diavola." Made with tomato, white wine, garlic, fennel, and crawfish tails, this unique combination of flavors is truly a delight for the taste buds. Topped with fresh basil and breadcrumbs, every bite is bursting with freshness and texture.
Another delectable option is the "meatball pie." This beauty features chef's house-made beef meatballs, house-made mozzarella, pepperoncini, and basil. Finished with aged provolone and Sicilian oregano, this pizza is a true masterpiece. The best part? It's available all day long at their Cesar Chavez location, making it perfect for lunch or dinner.
Bufalina also knows how to create buzz-worthy events. Their annual white truffle party is highly anticipated by food enthusiasts. Serving Italian white truffles at cost from November 30th to December 4th (or until sold out), guests can indulge in these luxurious delicacies without breaking the bank. With special white truffle dishes and wine pours on offer during this event, it's an experience not to be missed.
The reopening of Bufalina on E. Cesar Chavez has been met with excitement from loyal customers and newcomers alike. After closing its original location last year, the restaurant has found a new home in the Holly neighborhood. With its reopening on November 21st, patrons can once again enjoy their favorite Neapolitan pizzas and wines in a welcoming atmosphere.
Bufalina's dedication to quality ingredients and innovative flavor combinations sets it apart from other pizza places in Austin. Whether you're craving classic Margherita or adventurous creations like the bucatini diavola, Bufalina is sure to satisfy your pizza cravings. Don't miss out on this gem in the heart of Austin's food scene.
